Job Description

Are you knowledgeable about wine and would enjoy communicating your passion and knowledge to groups visiting our winery? We are looking for additional people to host tours of our vineyard and production areas as well as show case our award winning range of wines in a group tasting. These roles are required to cover our tours through the season.

Position Overview:

You will be leading a group of visitors around the vineyard and winery, introducing them to Ridgeview and the world of English Sparkling wine. The tour would last around 1 ½ hours and you would then host a tasting for the group, leading them through the range of wines that Ridgeview produce.

For each tour including, set and clear down, you would be on site around 3-4 hours per shift. The tours are generally on weekends, although in our peak periods, they are also scheduled during the week. The team of tours hosts are offered available tours and choose those they can accept.

What you will need to be successful applicant :

  • A formal qualification in wine (e.g. WSET level 3+) and/or extensive proven experience in a relevant role.
  • To be confident, respectful communicator with a warm welcome; able to clearly articulate complex processes in engaging and interesting way.
  • To have a tangible and infectious passion for wine, together with enthusiasm for the English Wine industry.
  • To be credible, friendly, people person who is presentable, charismatic and a natural ambassador
  • To be a team player who is flexible with availability dependent on the needs of the business and the weather. Weekend and evening working will be required throughout the season.
  • To be self-motivated, able to work independently with own initiative.
  • Have a potential to be a Brand Ambassador, aligned with the Ridgeview values: have talent, passion, be nurturing, and striving for excellence in all they do.
  • Previous experience hosting wine tours in preferable, but not essential.
